Top Moments: NBC’s The Wiz Live!

Last night, NBC broadcast The Wiz Live! with impressive talent, including Queen Latifah, Mary J. Blige, Ne-Yo and David Alan Grier, and new-comer Shanice Williams as Dorothy. The show was beautifully directed by Kenny Leon and adapted for television by Harvey Fierstein from the original musical’s book by William F. Brown. It was co-produced by Cirque du Soleil, who added their acrobatic wonder to a few key moments in the show, including the “Tornado,” “Emerald City,” and “Funky Monkeys” sequences. The Wiz marks the third live Broadway show NBC has broadcast in the last few years, following Peter Pan Live! last year and The Sound of Music Live! the year before.

So what made The Wiz Live! stand out from the others, and what moments had viewers tuned in the most? TiVo® pulled the top moments from last night’s brilliant broadcast, to highlight the classic moments and songs we hold so dear in this incredible story – enjoy!
