Andy Samberg did the near impossible; he completed his Emmy Awards hosting duties at 10:59 p.m. ET, on schedule and presumably on budget. That does not imply there weren’t some high points in an awards show uncharacteristically focused primarily on the awards. The 67th Emmy Awards fell on Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin’s 67th birthday, and television presented him with a number of gifts: twelve Emmy statuettes to be exact — during last week’s Creative Arts Emmy Awards and last night’s ceremony — including Best Drama, Best Supporting Actor (Peter Dinklage), Best Writing (David Benioff and Dan Weiss) and Best Direction (David Nutter).
But Game of Thrones was not the only big winner last night. Below is a collection of the TiVo Top 5 Moments, based on what our subscribers felt were the most noteworthy moments in last night’s awards program — moments that merit a second or third look because of their emotional impact or humor. Enjoy!
