What to Watch This Week: Sunday, February 15th – Saturday, February 21st

Looking for something new to record or stream? Here’s what we’re recommending you watch this week:

Sunday, February , 15th:

  • NBA All-Star Game (TNT): Next year for fun, the NBA should name just one team of All-Stars and have them play the Washington Generals. This year, all your favorite stars play at least 5 minutes so everyone gets a turn.
  • Saturday Night Live 40th Special (NBC): 40 years of Saturday Night Live stars, hosts, musicians and people who swore they were done with the show (cough, Eddie, cough) gather together to celebrate the show.

Monday, February 16th:

  • Stevie Wonder Songs in the Key of Life (CBS): Ed Sheeran, Willie Nelson and more gather to celebrate the immense talent of Stevie Wonder.
  • Codes and Conspiracies (AHC): Remember that time your uncle tried to explain how the government is using the HAARP program to control your mind? This is where he’s getting those kinds of ideas.

Tuesday, February 17th:

  • 139th Westminster Dog Show (USA): Let’s hope no one forgot to pack the Busy Bee or someone is going to flip out!
  • Countdown to the Oscars – 15 Movies That Changed American Cinema (ABC): We’re really hoping that “Road House” finally gets the credit that it deserves.

Wednesday, February 18th:

  • The Mentalist (CBS): The final episode of “The Mentalist” features Patrick Jane’s sudden realization that he’s on a TV show that’s about to end.
  • SI The Making of Swimsuit ’15 (Travel): Since this is on the Travel Channel, we can only assume that this is an important documentary of some kind that should not be missed.

Thursday, February 19th:

  • The Odd Couple (CBS): We’re genuinely excited for this remake starring Thomas Lennon (Lieutenant Dangle, for life) and one of our favorite Friends, Matthew Perry.
  • Two and a Half Men (CBS): Will Charlie Sheen reappear for the finale of the show he put on the map? We’ll definitely be tuning in to find out!

Friday, February 20th:

  • The Jack & Triumph Show (Adult Swim): Jack McBrayer and Triumph the Insult Comic Dog get their own show about a man and a dog who used to be on a show together. It’s just crazy enough to work.

Saturday, February 21st:

  • Daytona 500 Bash at the Beach (FOX): Motor sports meets music stars as everyone gears up for the Daytona 500.
  • Kobe Bryant’s Muse (SHO): At first we thought this was a documentary about Kobe Bryant sponsoring an English rock band. It is in fact not that at all.

Streaming:

  • The Overnighters (Netflix, February 17th): A captivating documentary about a group of men working in the North Dakota oil fields and a local pastor who risks everything to help them.
  • Richie Rich (Netflix, February 20th): Season One of the reboot of the classic children’s show about a young one percenter.
