Looking for something new to record or stream? Here’s what we’re recommending you watch this week:
Sunday, February 8th:
- The 57th Annual Grammy® Awards (CBS):LL Cool J hosts the annual music industry celebration where the three-way performance of “FourFiveSeconds” from Kanye West, Rihanna and Paul McCartney will be only the second weirdest thing of the night, thanks to Madonna.
- Last Week Tonight (HBO): John Oliver’s return shines a light on issues that everyone in your Facebook feed is going to get really riled up about for a week.
- The Walking Dead (AMC): Who are we kidding? You don’t care what else is on Sunday night, since most of you can’t wait for Rick Grimes and his band of merry men to return this week.
- Better Call Saul (AMC): The first night of the two-night premiere of the “Breaking Bad” spin-off.
Monday, February 9th:
- Better Call Saul (AMC): The second night of the premiere is sure to give us just enough of a fix, even without Walt and Jesse. Check out the comic book AMC’s released about the characters, before you lawyer up.
Tuesday, February 10th:
- Amish Mafia (DSC): The fourth season premiere finds Tony and Carmella on the run from the cast of “Witness”. Actually no; we’re thinking of something different. But this premiere episode for the final season promises lots of shots of people walking through wheat fields in slow motion.
Wednesday, February 11th:
- Modern Family (ABC): With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, we’re just hoping for the return of Clive Bixby and Julianna.
- Schitt’s Creek (POP): This Canadian import tells the story of a video store mogul who’s forced to rebuild his family in the soapiest way possible and stars Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara. Tune in for the name alone.
Thursday, February 12th:
- The Slap (NBC): An event series built around an altercation at a family birthday party, starring The Bride, Spock and the guy who made Jason Bourne. Maybe they should have called in Dr. Zaius for counseling.
- Kitchen Nightmares (BBCA): In this series finale, Gordon Ramsey finally admits that he’s just sick and tired of cleaning up your messes, Great Britain.
Friday, February 13th:
- The Soup (E!): Instead of watching all the ridiculous reality shows, just watch this weekly recap of the best (and worst) moments, hosted by comedian and professional tall person, Joel McHale.
- Friday the 13th: Mark the occasion by revisiting the gang from Crystal Lake.
Saturday, February 14th:
- True Supernatural (Science): This new series about investigating supernatural phenomenon all over the world starts by doing what every successful series should: releasing the Kraken!
Streaming:
- Bosch (Amazon, February 13th): A successful product of the Amazon pilot season process, this police procedural based on a series of novels examines the life of a cop involved in an on-the-job shooting.
- The Theory of Everything (Amazon, February 10th): Watch the Oscar-nominated movie at home, beginning on Tuesday.
