Last Thursday, the TiVo team walked the red carpet of the 66th Annual Technology & Engineering Awards at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. Donning the latest in CES fashion, TiVo was recognized for Television Enhancement Devices, while subsidiary Digitalsmiths was recognized for Personalized Recommendation Engines for Video Discovery for Multichannel Video Programming Distributors (MVPDs). The 2014 honors mark the fifth and sixth Emmy® Awards for TiVo Inc.
TiVo received an Emmy for bridging the “traditional” TV experience with premium non-linear content delivered over the Internet via the TiVoCast™ platform. TiVoCast was the first mass-market Internet-delivered television service that allowed consumers to record web video content from such partners as Amazon, CNET and The New York Times the same way that TiVo recorded and played traditional TV content to the television screen.
Digitalsmiths’ Emmy® Award recognizes the success of the company’s Seamless Discovery® product, including its status as North American MVPD’s most-adopted personalized video search and recommendation platform. Based on current partnerships, Digitalsmiths is working with seven leading U.S. pay-TV providers, powering more video discovery features than any other solution through its personalized search and recommendations and mood, sports and social discovery.
