Major Networks and Major Stars All Stand Up To Cancer Tonight

Tonight four major networks (ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC) and various cable outlets (e.g., E!, HBO, Showtime, TBS and VH1) will come together to air the third primetime fundraising event for Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C).  The event will be broadcast live from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles and air simultaneously and commercial-free on all participating channels.

Executive Produced by Gwenyth Paltrow, the event promises to be star-studded, including appearances by: Julia Roberts, Matt Damon, Michael Douglas, Jessica Biel, Samuel L. Jackson, Jeremy Renner, Seth Rogen, Emma Stone, Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Justin Timberlake, Sofia Vergara, Eric Stonestreet, Max Greenfield, and Olympic Gold Medalists Gabrielle Douglas and Missy Franklin.  According to event promoters, the broadcast will also feature moving performances by Taylor Swift, Coldplay, Alicia Keys and Tim McGraw.

But while they’re on-hand to entertain and inspire, it’s not supposed to be all about the celebrities. SU2C – a program of the Entertainment Industry Foundation – was created to accelerate innovative cancer research that will save lives.  If you believe in the cause, there will be many available ways to donate and to possibly interact with the stars manning the phone banks. For more information about the show or how to donate, visit standup2cancer.org.

With so many channels donating primetime television for SU2C, you have many opportunities to watch – or TiVo – tonight at 8pm ET and PT/7pm Central.
