TiVo Olympic Coverage — Top Moments — August 4, 2012

The final day of swimming went out with a bang, as the event secured the majority of the TiVo Top Moments for day 8.  Michael Phelps’s final Olympic race took 2 of the 5 TiVo Moments.  Team USA took gold and the Top TiVo Moment in the Men’s 4 x 100m medley relay.  Phelps’ Olympic career included a total of 18 Olympic medals and spanned 51 Olympic swims and nearly 10,000 meters in the pool. The USA women’s swimming “smiley club” took the 2nd Top Moment as they finished the 4 x 100m medley relay and set a new World Record.

Top Moments transitioned from swimming as finals for frack and field got underway Saturday night. The race for the title “world’s fastest woman” took the 3rd spot: Jamaica’s Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce became one of three women to win two consecutive gold medals in the 100m dash, edging out USA’s Carmelita Jeter by 0.03 seconds. Finally, the 5th TiVo Top Moment gave the host nation something to cheer about: the Olympic arena roared as Jessica Ennis came down the final stretch of the 800m dash, clutching the gold medal in the women’s heptathlon for Great Britain.
