Adele is all over the place these days, from the radio to Glee, to movie trailers to…pretty much everywhere you turn. So while we should be used to the Adele accolade train by now – we still think this is pretty big news. This week, Adele’s 21 album hit its 17th week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, the longest since run The Bodyguard soundtrack was at No. 1 for 20 weeks back in 1993. We’re big Adele fans, so this is not shocking. True story: at a NYC concert a few years back, it was her birthday. So she went to Economy Candy on the Lower East Side and distributed it to the crowd. How could you not love this girl?
From our Twitter feeds, we know that people are still listening to Adele, and loving her, especially on the TiVo-offered Pandora. Says Katie Pyle, @blackjackbreakr: “I know I probably say this a lot, but the Adele Pandora station is just so good to me. Warms my bones.” And we agree! But we are also wondering if an Adele backlash is coming. We’ve been seeing a few people express the same sentiment as @meganfeltes: “Oh dear. Just thumbs-downed Adele on Pandora. I guess the burnout has begun.” Perhaps her impending break comes just at the right time. We want nothing but love for Adele. And candy.
What about you? Do you still love the “Rolling in the Deep” singer or are you a little over it? If you’ve moved on, what are you listening to on Pandora these days? We’ll need something to fill the Adele void!
