Ready, Set, Emmys!

The 62nd annual Primetime Emmy award show is this Sunday to honor the most unforgettable moments in TV last year, so be sure to set your TiVo® Premiere box to record the event, and of course the red carpet coverage beforehand.

Here’s a quick look at some of the nominees you might not know about and want to consider setting OnePass® recordings for, whether they come out winners on Sunday night or not:

Outstanding Lead Actor In A Comedy Series: Jim Parsons as Sheldon Cooper  on The Big Bang Theory – Whether this will be the year Parsons can beat three-time Emmy winning Alec Baldwin for his work on 30 Rock is unknown, but what we do know is that Sheldon Cooper is guaranteed to make you laugh as a certified genius with zero social skills.

Outstanding Lead Actress In A Drama Series: Julianna Margulies as Alicia Florrick on The Good Wife – Ever wonder what the wife of a scandalized politician has to go through? Margulies’ strong performance on The Good Wife gives you a heartbreaking, yet empowering look at what it takes to overcome the humiliation and betrayal. If you’re a fan of Margulies, check out her work as nurse Carol Hathaway on the now-cancelled, but still-beloved ER.

Outstanding Comedy Series: Modern Family or Glee– Whether these two breakout hits of the season walk away with golden trophies, they’re already big winners based on the amount of hype and caliber of stars clambering for a guest appearance. Make sure you catch up on Season 1 of the unique, quirky shows that everyone can’t stop talking about with Amazon Video On Demand, or Blockbuster On Demand.

Don’t forget the broadband-connected TiVo Premiere can help you discover all sorts of other entertainment, whether it’s movies available for rent or purchase on Amazon On Demand with your favorite TV stars, e.g. Steve Carrell in 40-Year-Old-Virgin, or a hilarious YouTube video of 30 Rock’s Tracy Morgan.

And if you want to be a part of the Emmys, here’s your chance to contribute. Host Jimmy Fallon is accepting Twitter submissions to introduce up to 15 Emmy presenting celebrities, including Stephen Colbert, LL Cool J, Eva Longoria, and more. Submit your Tweet here and your name could be mentioned on TV!

Happy watching and if you’re the wagering type, good luck in your Emmy pool!
