If you don’t already know about all the excellent movie and music content your TiVo DVR delivers, get ready to be entertained. There’s a virtual avalanche of exciting, new content for you to explore. And don’t worry about searching for what’s available. I’ve already done some digging and have selected some highlights I think you’ll enjoy.
Starting June 8th, some incredible HBO shows become available from Amazon Video On Demand on your TiVo box:
Curb Your Enthusiasm (Seasons 1-7) is a comedy television series starring Seinfeld creator Larry David. The humor in this show comes from exploring those awkward, uncomfortable moments in life we normally avoid like the plague.
Flight of the Conchords (Seasons 1 & 2) is about a New Zealand comedy band duo trying to make it in the U.S. It’s hilarious and their music lyrics are a crack-up.
Extras (Seasons 1 & 2) is a funny British TV series directed by Ricky Gervais. Each episode features a different guest star—pretty cool guests, too! The show follows the exploits of some luckless actors working as extras in movies, television and theater.
And there are even more great HBO shows from Amazon Video On Demand that you can get through your TiVo DVR, including Big Love, Sopranos (a classic), Deadwood, Sex and the City, Six Feet Under, Oz, The Wire, True Blood, Eastbound and Down, Entourage (Seasons 1-3) and more.
Movies to look out for:
The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus starring Health Ledger and Christopher Plummer. This was the movie Health Ledger was filming at the time of his tragic death in January of 2008. This movie didn’t get much attention in theaters when it was released in January of this year. Available beginning on June 11th for rental from BLOCKBUSTER On Demand® and Amazon Video On Demand on a TiVo box.
Ondine is an indie movie that is currently in theaters and also available digitally on your TiVo box from Amazon Video On Demand. (Pretty cool to see a movie digitally that just got to theaters, especially when in features the steamy Colin Farrell!) Synopsis: A fisherman (Colin Farrell) hauls in an unexpected catch when a beautiful and mysterious woman gets tangled in one of his nets. It’s a charming and thrilling romance about what happens when fairy tales collide with real life.
