Five Web Shows You Shouldn’t Miss

Did you know there are over 500 free shows available for you to watch right now? With the flick of your TiVo remote, you can access the best of the web. But with so many great free shows available for download through your broadband-connected TiVo box, how are you supposed to know what to watch? Here are five great shows to add to your Season Pass® Recordings List:

1. The Totally Rad Show: TRS is not your typical review show. Each week Jeff, Dan and Alex talk about the latest in movies, TV, video games and comics…basically everything rad. Throw in their occasional forays into awesome sidebars like their recurring “Dan Becomes a Man” series where Jeff and Alex help Dan “accomplish” a manly goal (like learning to drive a stick or learning to hang Christmas lights) and you’ve got a show that’s one of the best hours you can spend each week.
2. Wine Library TV: Yes, it’s a show about wine tasting…but it’s so much more. Hosted by the passionate Gary Vaynerchuk, Wine Library TV is everything that’s great about web video. What wines go best with frozen foods? What’s the best cabernet you can get for $12? And what wine should you be drinking on those nights you’re having cereal for dinner? Even if you don’t like vino, it’s hard not to be engrossed by Gary’s passion for everything he does.
3. The Minimalist: If you like to cook then you should be watching this series from New York Times food critic Mark Bittman. Each episode focuses on a single recipe that Mark always seems to make seem so easy to make. Check out previous episodes for great recipes like Oven-Smoked Ribs or More-Vegetable-Than-Egg Fritata.
4. Howcast: Even if you already know how to cook, do you know how to do…everything else? Howcast focuses on closing the gap between “things you know” and “everything in the universe.” With one-shot episodes focused on how to do everything from “How to Turn Heads at your High School Reunion” to “How to become a Mini Golf Master,” Howcast has a little something for everyone.
5. Break.com: There’s really no way to describe the videos from Break.com other than to start with “Really??” and end with “Ouch!!” Basically the internet’s answer to “America’s Funniest Home Videos,” Break.com features the wildest, weirdest and sometimes just plain wrong user-submitted videos from Break.com’s website. Trust us when we say, this isn’t for the faint of heart.
